My Top 10 Anime
Hey Guys, it's me from Planet-M. Today we've got another top 10 list and much like the last one this is a list based on my own personal opinions, also if you have any suggestions for any other lists then leave a comment down below and I'll see if I can do it.
This week I'll be doing a list on what I think are the top 10 anime, this list is based on anime that I've watched and I will give you the reason why I think they are good, also if anyone doesn't like any of the choices on my list then that's good and I'd like to get your opinion on the subject in the comments, just remember that this list is just my own opinion on the subject.
10: My Bride is a Mermaid
Why: Well this is the first on my list I have to say that this series was hilarious. What I really loved about this series was mostly the light hearted comedy and the situations that the main protagonist Nagasumi gets himself into. This was the first comedic anime I had watched and I have to say it handles its comedic side well from Nagasumi constantly getting into trouble with his murderous Yakuza father-in-law because he's trying to keep his future wife's secret. This anime has a great cast of characters and the episodic stories are worth the watch.
9: Dragon Ball Z Kai
Why: I am a fan of the original Dragon Ball Z, but one of the problems I had with the series is that a lot of the fight scenes where dragged out and some of the filler arcs were a bit lackluster (except for the episode where Goku and Piccolo learn how to drive, that was great), all of that is fixed with Dragon Ball Z Kai where you just get the content based on the manga and much of the loved voices of the series reprise their roles and that makes for a good Dragon Ball Series.
8: Shaman King
Why: Now not many like this due to it being one of the many anime series that fell to 4KIDS entertainments censorship, but this was one of the first anime I saw growing up and yes the censorship during the fight scenes are annoying, but there is still enough of the fight to keep track and the story is still something I am interested in. The character interactions between anyone in the group and Ren is pretty funny and the search for Doby Village is one of my favourite parts of the show all and all I think Shaman King is a good Anime and it wasn't hurt that much by 4KIDS in the censorship, so that's something.
7: Naruto/Naruto Shippuden
Why: The original and Shippuden maybe separate, but they are part of the same story, so I'm going to give the why as if the two were one series, this series like Shaman King was one of the first anime I started watching and I grew up with it since the series has gone on for more than 15 years. There is a lot in both Naruto series that keeps me invested, but It's the long standing story that really kept me invested in this series and yes the filler arcs (much like Dragon Ball Z's) were lackluster, but there were some parts of the filler that were entertaining such as the one off episodes that didn't over stay there welcome and frankly I'm glad to have watched this show and its main character's progress.
6: Elemental Gelade
Why: The animation for this series was done superbly and the first opening episodes are what got me hooked as 4 people journey across the world in order to get a young girl to safety while having a few adventures along the way. Elemental Gelade will always be a good series to me because I always like stories that centre on an adventure into the unknown and this series delivers on that.
5: Digimon Tamers S3
Why: Now any fan would know I don't need a reason to put this on the list, but here's why, unlike the other Digimon seasons (which were good) season three really reinvented what we knew about the Digimon series and turned into a beautifully dark tale with a large sense of scale as with the final 5 episodes it truly feels like the world is ending. The characters are well developed and it helps that the head writer Chiaki J. Konaka took inspiration from Neon Genesis Evangelion and is also the writer of Serial Experiments Lain.
4: One Piece
Why: like I said earlier with Elemental Gelade I like stories where a group of people are journeying across an unknown land, that is one the reasons I like One piece, it also has top animation, interesting filler arcs, a large cast of memorable characters, creative fight scenes and a simplistic end goal.
3: My Hero Academia
Why: Well this series has great premise, a school for super powered people who learn to become superheroes. The animation is top notch and matches its manga counterpart well and the series has a relatable protagonist, Izuku Midoriya is a superhero fan who wants to be a hero and I think that's something a lot of people can relate to. The pacing of the show is exceptional and the second season is doing a good job at adding more to the supporting characters around Izuku, so I can definitely say that My Hero Academia is a anime people should be watching right now.
2: Nadia and the Secret Of Blue Water
Why: What happens when you take the works of Jules Verne and mix it together with anime, well you get Nadia and the secret of blue water, truly an epic nautical adventure, the animation is beatifully crafted for a television anime and the story is quite coherent.
1: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Why: And now the no.1, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. In an earlier blog I recommended this in its manga counter and now people can watch the full manga adapted story, the animation has been improved from the original 2003 version and the story is entirely focused on the manga with no filler arcs. In all honesty I actually found this series by accident and wound up binge watching the entire series that's how good it is and that's why in my opinion it is the best anime I have watched.
And with that done I'd like to give a thanks to Ethan Turley who suggested doing this Top 10 and I hope that you liked it, Thank You For Reading.
