F is For Family: Review
Now I usually love animated series that offer more more content in story than just giving joke after joke and many people agree with this concept, but once in a while you find a show that balances both story and humour in the perfect mix and I have found that in F is for family. This show isn't quite Simpsons, but it feels very reminiscent of The Simpsons back when the first episodes aired and the main characters style of attire is slightly similar to homers.
The show takes place in the 1970's and centres on the father of the family, Frank Murphy a veteran of the Korean war who is recently offered a promotion at the airport where he works and through the 6 episode run we see Frank struggle to keep the airports employees from going on strike while at the same time deal with the problems he has going on at home. The Main characters of the show all have their own story arcs which are centred on their own problems and connect to the storyline as a whole, this is very impressive as many shows have not been able to produce good character arcs in comedies.
But in the show we see it all develop in the best way possible as we see a resolve from the characters and though the episodes don't end in the normal "everything is going to be alright" fashion that is okay, because we see so much transpire with well written comedy that we still hope that things will be alright, this series has produced many relatable problems for this time as well, dealing with bullies, trying to do well in school and trying to build more of an identity for yourself, I hope Bill Burr and all the people involved in this project can keep doing what they are doing, because they have obviously done something.
I recommend this show to anyone willing to watch it on Netflix, Thank You.
